Orlando golf

My uncle has been a big fan of golf. Since we was getting old, he needed a sport or a hobby to let have fun and at the same time, stay fit and so he started to like golf. Golf is only good for you, but also with the whole family. My uncle and auntie has been enjoying golf for years now. And good thing they are located in Orlando, where Orlando golf-one of the finest golf locations on the state is located. Now, I'm thinking of getting into golf as well.

Power ranger is a Pinay

I got this entry from my cousin Ramil.

Article taken from Philippine Star - Saturday, July 12.

If you are "techno"-crazy like my nephews, chances are that you are an avid fan of Power Rangers.

For the sake of old fogeys (like this one), here's a little backgrounder on Power Rangers, culled from the Net:

Power Rangers is a long-running American children's television series adapted from the Japanese tokusatsu Super Sentai Series, though it is a "new" production with English-speaking actors spliced in with the original Japanese footage in varying ratios. Due to the very Japanese nature of many of the Super Sentai Series' stories and design, the American shows are altered to fit the Western audience. However, many of the action sequences featuring the characters in costume and the mecah (referred to as "Zords" in the English series) are typically dubbed.

The series that began the franchise was Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, which began broadcasting as part of the Fox Kids group of programs that aired on the Fox network. It lasted for three seasons (from 1993 to 1996). The franchise has continued, and as of 2008 has consisted of 16 television seasons, 14 different series, and two theatrical films. The 15th season and the 13th series, Power Rangers: Operation Overdrive, debuted on Feb. 26, 2007, and completed on Nov. 12, 2007. The new series, Power Rangers: Jungle Fury, debuted last Feb. 18.

The Power Rangers series was distributed by Saban Entertainment from 1993 until the end of 2001 and was broadcast on Fox until the fall of 2002. The franchise was purchased by the Walt Disney Company as part of the buyout that took place between 2001 and 2002.

But what Power Rangers fanatics probably don't know yet is that a Filipino actress has been in the series (Power Rangers: Operation Overdrive), playing Rose The Pink Ranger, for almost a year, so petite (standing 5'1") that she looks like a Dresden Doll side by side with the other Rangers: Samuell Benta as Will The Black Ranger, Caitlin Murphy as Roni The Yellow Ranger, James Maclurcan as Mack The Red Ranger and Gareth Yuen as Tax The Blue Ranger.

She's none other than Rhoda Montemayor, 23, a full-blooded Filipina born and raised in London, along with her two siblings Renee (older), also an actress, and Rowena (younger) who, believe it or not, played the son of Lea Salonga in Miss Saigon when the Cameron Mackintosh megahit musical opened at the Theatre Royale Drury Lane in London's West End. Her mom, Rosalie Pichay Viloria (related to former Rep. Prospero Pichay), is Ilocana; and her dad, Eddie Montemayor, is Kapampangan.

"My sister Renee is the reason why I am in this business," revealed Rhoda. "She's the actress in the family, the first UK-born Filipina to play Kim in Miss Saigon. I wasn't always into the performing arts. I used to do ballet classes as a part-time work in school and Renee, seeing the potential in me, pushed me into auditioning for some plays."

Whatever happened to Rowena?

"She didn't pursue acting. She's 21 now and she's into events marketing."

Rhoda graduated from the Laine Theater Arts in London, a school which she described as "very similar to Fame" (remember the movie?). She can dance but even if, as she herself admitted, "I can't sing," she has been in several musicals-on-tour, such as West Side Story and A Chorus Line.

"I can carry a tune, all right, but I am not as good a singer as those in the Philippines where there are so many fantastic singers," Rhoda said in all candor and humility.

Rhoda is here for her regular vacation and she's staying for two months. She arrived on June 16, going around incognito, and she hasn't even said yes to any of the invitations for her to guest on TV. This interview was her very first ever.

So how did Rhoda get into Power Rangers?

"Disney went to London to look for actors to play The Black Ranger and The Pink Ranger," said Rhoda. "They had already found the other Rangers but they couldn't find the remaining Rangers, even if they had already auditioned dozens of aspirants in such faraway places as New Zealand, Australia, India and South America. I don't have any idea what qualities in the actors they were looking for. They actually went to London as a last recourse."

Rose The Pink Ranger is supposed to be a genius who graduated from Harvard at the age of nine.

"I was to find out later that the Disney people wanted an actor who is quite cool and who is able to pick up quickly," added Rhoda, "and who is trained in martial arts which I was not. I would learn martial arts only on the job. During the audition, they asked me to memorize some lines and they wanted an American accent. Three weeks later, I got the part. Before I could recover from excitement, I found myself on a plane to Auckland, New Zealand, for the shoot. I was there for seven months. Everything happened very fast, like a whirlwind."

Her background as a dancer came in handy for the choreographed action scenes.

"It was in Auckland where we trained in martial arts and stunts. There are a lot of explosions in the series, so we were trained how to run so that we wouldn't get burned. We were also taught how to fall properly so we wouldn't break our bones, and how to kick and be kicked without getting hurt. We started shooting in 2006 and the series started airing seven months ago in the US. It should be showing in the Philippines soon."

How much of her is Filipino and how much is British?

"Oh, I guess 50/50. I was raised in a Filipino family, even if my surrounding is very British. No, we never experienced any clash of cultures. Our parents instilled in us very Filipino values. Family and religion are very strong factors in our upbringing. We children were baptized Catholics."

As soon as she's back in London, Rhoda will resume work on a British film called Suicide Kids, a horror-thriller. Her first movie was Finding Neverland (yes, the Johnny Depp starrer) which was shot in London. Her other films include Animal (no, not the Rob Schneider starrer) and Adulthood (a sequel to Kidulthood), now showing in London, where she plays a cameo. (She has auditioned for other Hollywood films, one of them Memoirs of a Geisha.)

Would she consider an offer to do a project here?

"I'm here on vacation but I'm open to anything."

Hmmmm. That's your cue.

Stroller

I had so much time preparing for my baby's arrival more than 2 years ago. We bought clothes, milk, accessories, shoes and many more. The one Io most enjoy is when we chose the crib and walkers for the little one. And we found on the Internet that there's so many strollers to choose from. My sister lend me their stroller for the mean time until we got own for the little kiddo. Being a parent is tiring and yet very fulfilling.

Workout

Yes, it's my second time to hit the gym yesterday and I'm proud of myself. It started last Monday when my friend at work invited me to go to the gym with them. I gave it a try since it was very near our work place. The condo building just across the street has a gym studio on the 4th level with badminton courts and a swimming pool. Membership is only 1k a month so I grabbed it. I intend to make it a habit to visit the gym 3 times a week. It was my second time yesterday, so I'll be dragging my ass again there later this afternoon. What I liked about the gym is that it's cozy, quiet and not crowded at all. The equipment is new and top of the line with lockers and showers. So I get to use them all by myself at times.

I'm thinking of getting myself a spare jogging pants, tank top and a new backpack. I haven't had a backpack in years. I want to check the JanSport bags, just like the one my sister has. They have new designs with funky prints and colors. I might get the pink one to match my pink jogging. *Cheking my wallet--Tsk! tsk! * Might as well wait for the payday then. Darn.

Diet

Diet and loosing weight has been my frustration for the last years. I've been trying to loose some pounds and take these flabs off for months and months now. I've tried every single diet remedy I can think of. Slimming tea, soaps, diet meals, miracle Chinese medicines, cosmetics that I could think of but none of them ever worked for me. Frustrated, I went online just to ease the stress when I bumped into Phentermine. This is unique diet pill than can loose pounds for weeks. Lately, I've been thinking, maybe I could try this. I hope I could reach the figure I want in several weeks to come.

monday again

Yup! It's Monday again. And this is the first time in weeks that me and the little angel stayed home on a weekend. We just eat, played, talked and watched dvd all day long. Talked about bonding huh. Well, I enjoyed it. Now it's the start of the week again and time to go to office. My friend also invited me if we could go to the gym later this afternoon. That's before going to work. That's means, I'll be leaving the house early. Hmmm... I'll think about it hehehe. Have a great week ahead everyone!

Sale

My friends call me bargain queen because I'm such a sucker for sale items. When there's sales and discounts in the local mall, expect me to be there. I do not settle for new arrival products because they tend to worn out nonetheless and prices nowadays can depreciate fast. Sale items are as good as the new ones. I'll just have to wait and believe me, it's worth the wait.

Jobs

Being a professional is something to be proud of. Earning a good career a personal goal. And being able to provide for my family is an achievement for me. And I've heard sales professionals are making it high in the corporate world. That's why making it to sales has it's advantages. Now sales jobs is everywhere. I'm thinking of getting involved too, who knows, I might make it big here.

Hancock

~ Will Smith as Hancock ~

The first time I told my office mates about Hancock, they laughed. Simple because they thought it was an adult movie tsk! Well anyway, I showed them the trailer and they thought it was good. So me and my girl-friends, watched the movie last Friday. I was excited because I knew it was a good movie, and it turn out I'm right. First, there's Will Smith which I liked because of his acting talent especially in comedy movies. Second, is Charlize Theron. Oh my she's so beautiful. Third is the story. Ordinary man with extra ordinary powers. How I wish I could be like him but of course, having that kind of powers comes with great responsibility. And I don't want to be in the limelight for the rest of my life. That's why I understand why Mary (Charlize Theron) chooses to be with her husband and live a normal life in the movie.

~ Charlize as Mary. ~

The only comment I have for the movie is that they did not explain further where he came from or how did they get here etc. But it was a good movie altogether. Me and my friends had a great time together.

Start of the week today and I'm feeling tired already. All I did was sleep all day and did not get online or spend time with the little angel. I'm starting to think about my weight again. TGIF

TGIF once again. And oh I just love this day... It means I can spend the time at home with the little kiddo. But our weekend is pretty much booked. SIL with her hubby will visit us tomorrow and when the hubby arrives at late afternoon, off we go to Cynch's place, for her birthday party/ mini-high school reunion because I heard a number of our batch mates will be there. I'm excited. I haven't seen them for almost 10 years. And I'm tagging the little angel with me. Can't wait!

We will be sleeping at my parents house after that and on Sunday, off we go to my niece's first birthday. It will be a blast! And we're all excited. I love kiddie parties.

There's still so many tags and meme I need to answer for my other blog. And I'm starting to think about the desktop that needs to be fixed. If only I have the time though.

Few minutes ago, I received an email which gave more light to my goals for my family. I'm praying that it will come true.

For now, I'm thanking God for another fabulous week.

Tradegy at Sea

~ MV Princess of the Stars ~

It has happened again: A ship was given clearance to sail despite a warning that a typhoon would hit the general area where it would pass through within 24 hours. Waves “as tall as mountains” lashed the ship, MV Princess of the Stars, and sank it off Sibuyan Island in Romblon province. About 800 of the more than 862 persons aboard the ship were missing as of Sunday and were believed to have drowned.

If all the 800 missing passengers are finally declared dead, the sinking of the MV Princess of the Stars would go into the records as the second-worst sea disaster in the Philippines. The country’s—and the world’s—worst peacetime sea disaster was the collision of the MV Doña Paz with MT Vector in Tablas Strait between the islands of Mindoro and Marinduque on Dec. 20, 1987 in which more than 4,000 people died.

One question being asked is why MV Princess of the Stars was allowed to sail despite the warning that Typhoon Frank (international code name: Fengshen) would hit the general area where it would pass on its way to Cebu City. President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo asked Vice Admiral Wilfredo Tamayo, Coast Guard chief, this question and he said that ships the size of the ill-fated vessel were not covered by storm warnings issued by the weather bureau. If this is true, then the guidelines should be revised to cover all vessels regardless of size. It is always better to err on the side of caution than take risks. We are talking of the lives of people here.

compact flash

Technology today are getting higher and it's making our life much more easier everyday. Film camera are replaced by digital cameras, wherein we can view pictures instantly. Some photographers even uses high-end digital camera to capture that special moments that meant a thousand words. And one handy tool is the compact flash, which us to store up to a hundred or more depending on the compact flash.

auto insurance quote

It's so hard to travel without a car especially if we have the little angel in tow. We can still commute from the house to where we want to go but sometimes it's much easier and comfortable to travel with a car especially on long drives or during hot afternoons in the traffic. But we cannot just jump in and buy a car just like that. We need computation quotes, that's why auto insurance quote is here to help out.

fractional ownership

Sometimes I get fed up of the climate here. Since we have a tropical weather, we only experience rain and shine. I wonder does snow feels like. And it would a mashing if we can have of those vacation spots near the mountains, where the weather is cold and view is spectacular. I have that somewhere in the mountains of Colorado, they have a fractional ownership. Wherein you can own a fraction of the luxury home. Now that would be a hit.

Friday the 13th

I had a hard time this week. Morning shift had driven me crazy. Why? For one, it's soo hard to wake up at 3:30AM, second--It's so hot in the afternoon when to go out and last... it's too crowded! I can't even walk straight a path because there's so many people coming in from every directions. Not the mention the sweaty and smelly ones. I don't want to be rude but maybe I got use to the night shift. But since the buffer training is over, we will begin the real training starting on Monday. That means, I'm back to the night shift again... yey! And the real fun about it is that, we are working on a project which I pray will be a success after two months. We'll see.

Oh, it's Friday the 13th... Any bad lucks? Nah.

After the elimination round last month, we are now down to four bands. Unfortunately, we are one of them hahaha. Finals will be tomorrow @ Ten 04 Bar in Timog--7pm. The first thing I did on the lappy was connect to the wireless, install messengers and update my blog. I still need to familiarized myself on the keypads and I'm not used to the touch pad. I find the specs reasonable for the price and it has everything I need--mainly saving pictures, chatting, blogging, surfing and hopefully photo editing and scrapping? Let's see. For now, I need to transfer files in here, upload tons of pictures online and use my external HD. I'm so excited.
For now, I still have things to do today, catch up with the accoustic night this thurday and Friday and attend kiddie party on Saturday. So time with the lappy will have to wait until I have the free time. Oh I have to buy gifts for the kiddie, print photos, go to grocery... and not mention go to work during the night. Oh men!

Zoobic

It was a rainy day last Saturday but that did not stop us from going to Subic bay, just to see their Zoobic Safari adventure. We got to Subic Bay at 10:30 in the morning and grabbed lunch at Xtremely Expresso Cafe'. We had a full carb meal--pizza and lasagna. More pictures and updated on Tigers and crocs when I finished uploading the photos.

Chicago travel

I remembered, my dad always tells us stories from his cousins abroad. Since we did not grow up with them, he never fails to remind us how they were like with they lived here in the Philippines several years back. Since we have different families now, and moved to our own place, my sisters were thinking that we push our parents to travel abroad. We know they deserved it. Another option to consider is Chicago travel. They can take a vacation and meet our relatives there, to catch up with the latest family gossips.

sconce

Decorating the house has been a recent addiction for me. Since we let our visitors come into our place, I think it's time to re-decorate the interior. And getting that full interior design is way too expensive for me, that's why the Internet has been a big help. I could scope the latest interior designs and estimate if it will go with our house. Along my research, I found wall sconce that will definitely go with our living room. And I'm sure the husband will totally agree with me.

No Computer

Having no computer at home has it's advantages. I mean, no working computer. Imagine, I was able to to do some of my pending chores I have on my list. I was able to finish the little angel's baby book, sort pictures and put them on the photo album, arrange my book, mags and reader's digest on the book shelf, convert the other room to our now exercise room, and sort and dispose all the papers (kalat) around the house. It's nice to see the house very neat. Now the hubby will try to fix the computer. I hope I don't get pre-occupied again like before.

best acne treatment

I had a worst acne problem when I was a teenage. It seems all the products I've tried does not worked for me. My mom said, it's hereditary so I can't do anything about it. But I thought, maybe I can. I just need the right products for it. And now I'm giving advise to my youngest sister to get the best acne treatment out there.

small business opportunity

My sister and I always dream of having a small business, managed and owned by us. We wanted to take the opportunity and risk that might boom in the future. Then I found, small business opportunity on the Internet. They offer business opportunities for business minded like us who wants to put a small business. This will be great help for us.

Now there's a new way of getting help on the Internet that's accurate and reliable. Meet the new budgeting software available online. It's very efficient, accurate and let you know the details of financial situations without risking a lot.

EcoQuest International

There are a lot of newly opened sites on the Internet that promises a better and informative reviews, news, showbiz buzz and many more. I have an attitude that before buying a product, I would consult the Internet for reviews from people of have already bought the product. Maybe I'm one of those people who wants to get the worth of my hard earned money. I would also wait a couple of months praying that the retail price would go down. At first, I would search using Google but sometimes, the sites I've found is not credible. EcoQuest International is a breathe of fresh air for me. Information here are complete and people are real. Not just another dummy, just fill in the gaps. They have activities which everyone can join, information and reviews regarding all sorts of topics like software, movies, gadgets, environment and many more.

assisted living facilities

Do you sometimes wind up in a difficult financial situation? Ever think of getting personal assistance on the Internet? Do you need help on financing, real estate, care giving, lifestyle, wellness, senior housing, house facilities and more. Now there is a one stop website that can assist on all our needs. Online assisted living facilities is available anytime, any day with just one click away on the computer. They have assisted living facility listing directory which can be accessible all throughout. Anything you need from anywhere is here. And not only that, they will also help assist difficult and tricky financial needs. They will help us understand what to do and what needs to be done, without sacrificing or risk our financial capabilities. This will also be a great help especially to people who are starting a life in the States. I would definitely recommend this to my family and friends.

New Jersey hair transplants

A lot of people suffer from hair loss nowadays. These are sometimes hard to prevent because they are heredity in the family. Our hair is an important feature that we need to preserve especially for those who people who use their physical attributes as an mode of earning money, like marketing personnel, first class hotel receptionists, flight stewards, and most especially showbiz personalities. Using high technology, hair transplant is now possible and at reach. They undergo special treatment to have that beautiful hair they wanted. In most countries, like in the US, hair transplants is just a call away. New Jersey hair transplants, on the other hands, is leading on this field. They have prioritize your health first before anything else. They have high tech facilities and treat patients with extra care. So why settle for the second class treatments when you can have the best on the line.

anti aging skincare

They say that taking care of your skin, reduces signs of aging. There are a lot of anti-aging solutions and remedies out there. Some people consider plastic surgery to have it done right away, if they have the money to spend. Most of the people today are more mindful of getting old, especially dry and wrinkled skin. Obviously, they don't want to look old at their age. That's why a lot of people are into anti aging skincare. These products includes cleansing, toning, moisturizing, rejuvenating and stimulating products are would help reduce or stop the process of aging. I remembered my mom does not want to get old so she buy the anti aging products. Maybe she thinks that people would not notice her age compare to her skin. But I am not afraid of aging. Looking good always is the priority for me. So when I am 50 years old, maybe I would consider in buying these anti aging skincare too.

meanings of names

When I was pregnant with my little angel, we were having a hard time thinking of a name that would suit her. I guess, giving a name to your child is the most difficult task of all. Why? Because that name would be his or her identity for the rest of her/his life. And once you sign the birth certificate, there's no turning back from there. That's why we made sure that we choose the right name for her. We considered every option that we could find. Tried putting and combining names from our parents, famous showbiz personality and many more. But I made sure the meanings of names will be the highest priority. Our elders believe that the meaning of the name of the child is usually her personality. I got several options listed at that time, and I prayed many times that God would help me choose the right for my little girl. After so many considerations, we finally made up our minds and chose the name that stands out from the rest.

Phentermine without prescription

People these days will do anything to loose weight. And it's sad to think that they will do anything just to get that slim body they want even if it meant to their health. Phentermine without prescription can help women like me to loose the weight without the unpleasant tracking device or getting burnt out in between exercises.

mortgage lenders

Everybody wants a secured home when they retire. And for people like us, it is a dream to have a home of our own, where we could see our daughter grow up. It would also be nice not to think of rent payments, or over due fees that we need to pay. Now, mortgage lenders is here to help make our long time dream come true.

medicare insurance

Ever wonder how your retirement would be? Everybody wants to have a secured life when they reach the senior age. Most people doesn't want to be a burden to their children when they have a family of their own. But some I know, still takes care of their elderly even if they have a family or their own. For me, giving medicare insurance to our elderly is the most precious gift we can give them.

Updates

As you can see, it's been raining paid ops for site and I'm loving it. It's about time actually. I've been praying for this to come and one of sponsors has been very grateful lately. Just got back from my vacation and received a paid ops waiting for me. Truly, a blessing! I wanted to finish all the ops long before it's deadline because I want to built a good reputation. So pardon for the paid ops for now.

Vacay updates: I have 300 plus pictures from our family vacay and I seriously need them online. But unfortunately, the computer at home won't boot up. I'm tempted to buy a laptop now, since I really need it. What do you think?

maternity clothes

Mother's day is fast approaching and I'm beginning to collate ideas on what to give to my special friend for this coming occasion. I thought of giving her maternity clothes since she is expecting a baby. Even maternity clothes are fashionable these days. And I'm starting to enjoy shopping online for maternity clothes.

chrome accessories

My Brother in law has been into car lately. Well, I guess all the guys are right. And since his birthday is fast approaching--in less than a month to be exact. The husband and I thought of giving him chrome accessories for his car. I'm sure he'll love the accessories that we found from the online website. There's so many choices that I can't even make up my mind.

health insurance

Having a family is a big responsibility that we'll deal for the rest of our life. Providing food and shelter to start with and also education and security with they grow up. Everybody wants a happy and secured future that's why we work hard to achieve it. Not only that, some also gets health insurance for their family.

leather office chairs

My sister has been doing Interior designing for couple of years now. Her clients are usually business facilities that needs upgrades or re-modeling. I've seen some of her designs and they are impressive because it matches the theme or the nature of the business. One thing I notices is the attractive leather office chairs which looks very comfortable, very suitable for offices.

diamond rings

There's nothing like a thoughtful gift from the husband this coming Mother's day. The husband was asking where we want to spend that special day. We plan to go somewhere, like a family trip so we can spend quality time with each other especially with our little angel. But of course, it would be great to receive a gift once in a while, like diamond rings maybe or a simple silver necklace.

home theater chairs

My dad has been addicted to movies and concerts lately and plans to buy an LCD flat screen television with home theater for their master bedroom. We are all excited especially my mom. This will add family time during weekends when everybody's around at home. We can gather up for a movie time with popcorn and snacks on the side. And what a better match to this is the home theater chairs for my dad.

drug treatment center

Going through a drug and alcohol addiction, or simple depression can be crucial. Especially if one is willing to go through rehabilitation. A drug treatment center whose willing to help can change lives of millions. This is the best treatment center for everyone. It is close to nature and will feel that you are closer to home.
