Davao - day 4

Day 4, our last day of vacation. We woke up early got dressed and packed our bags. When I was ready to go, I took pictures of the house, even the neighborhood outside.

~ Blur shot in front of the mirror. ~

When we were waiting for the husband to finish packing (yeah, he's in charge with the bags), the little angel made new friends again. When I asked them to look at the camera and smile, the little kiddo made a weird pose.

~ With my new friends... ~

We went to this church in front of the town's City Hall. There were lots of vendors out the in street too. My dad and I bought peanuts, buko and other chicha (snacks) on the street.

~ My friend told me that this church was bombed few years back. Scary. ~

Lunchtime. We saw Jo's chicken couple of blocks from the church. There's a branch of Jo's chicken here near congressional (qc) and we love to eat there, so we want to try Jo's version in Davao.

~ Daddy wait up! ~

We sat in the corner where it's spacious and cozy. I love the interior of the place.

~ Little angel just won't smile. ~

After lunch, we checked out the local delicacies. Davao's best -- Durian. But I like Suha more than Durian because I can't stand the odor.

~ Bought fruits and packed them in boxes. ~

We were suppose to watch a group of drag racers but the race was already finished. Sayang! So we went to crocodile park instead.

~ At the entrance. ~

In the park, we saw more animals. I did not had a hard time asking the little kiddo to pose beside the animals. It's just that, she makes that weird pose again.

~ The pose. ~

There were lots of crocodile in the park (obviously) this one in the middle of the park, I think was the largest. This was the biggest crocodile I've seen in my life.

~ He's huge.. promise. ~

Another animal that caught our attention was this Chimpanzee who kept swinging using a car's tire. He's big too.

~ Hello there! ~

We stopped by the the park snack bar and rested. Of course more picture taking for me while the hubby and the little kiddo checked the place. When they came back, they bought this weird fruit shake. The hubby said, it was a Dragon fruit. It's tasted like banana but it's pink. Weird.

~ Souvenir shop in front of the snack bar. ~

It was getting late that's why we decided to go home. We finished packing the bags, checked the fruit boxes and then we said farewell to everybody. They said, on our next visit, we should stay at least two weeks. Wishing well.

Then we had dinner at Bannoks, yup chicken again hahaha. The food there is low-priced, even in restos. Believe it or not, we only paid Php514 for the dinner--2 chicken pecho, big bowl of Bulalo, grilled liempo, chicharon bulalak, unlimited rice and a liter of pepsi.

~ I just love grilled chicken. ~

After dinner, we went straight to the airport. We said goodbye and thank our friend for all the hospitality. See you in Manila bro...

~ Hubby and the little kiddo entering the airport gates... ~

Pre-departure area was crowded. We were able to get a front seat row where we can easily view the airplanes parked outside the runway. I even took a video of the little angel running back and forth. Ang likot grabeh!

~ Checking the airplane. ~

The little angel, of course fell asleep because it was very late and I think she's tired from all that running earlier. The flight experienced little turbulence along the way. It made the little angel uncomfortable that's why she slept on lap and preferred a bear hug from me. I kinda felt a little panic because stupid me, I watched Air crash investigation before we left Manila.

~ Sleeping... ~

Two hours later, we were back in Manila. We were laughing in the baggage area because the little angel got frustrated. Our bags were taking so long to come out of the hole. Then we met up with a friend whose working there as one of the airport police. He escorted until we got our bags properly stuffed in the car.

~ Nice to see you again bro... ~

We were safe and sound in Bulacan at 1AM. Hmmmm... Davao is a nice place. Wish we could go back there, next year? Let's see. Check photos *here*

Wordless Wednesday

~ Turning 3 next year. ~

Yesterday, she insisted that she's a princess and wore a pink dress all day. When I got home an hour ago, I took out the Dora pink slippers I bought earlier in the market and I was surprised that it did not fit her. Looking at her now made me realize that she's becoming a big girl. Please don't grow up so fast baby!

Davao - day 3

Davao - day 3. We woke up late because because it's the town's fiesta and will not go out for the rest of the day. And while was the hubby and the little angel were still sleeping, I got out and had my nails done. They charge manicure/pedicure for only Php40.

~ Still sleeping... ~

While we were getting ready, people downstairs were so busy preparing the day's feast. Menudo, Native fried chicken, Lechon, Salads etc.

~ Lunch is served. ~

Then while we enjoy our delicious lunch, we were entertained by the local band. Actually they were the people in the neighborhood. And oh they play quite well! Especially the man on the left wearing a cap, he has the most amazing voice that I got goosebumps all over my arms when he sang "Lately" by Stevie Wonder.

~ Music feeds my soul. ~

While the band were rockin' downstairs, the little angel met a friend and her name was Arian. They were both the same age and they enjoyed playing inside the bedroom. Theirs no language barrier here. They can still understand each other even if the little angel speaks English while Arian speaks fluent Bisaya.

~ Show me some smile here please... good! ~

Darkness fell but the music still lingers in the air and this time younger bands were playing. This band played most that night. That girl's very pretty and her voice was nice, and she's only 17 years old woah. The guy on the black shirt on the right looks very simple but he definitely blew our ears away when he sang slow rock songs from the early 90's.

~ Rock 'n roll. ~

We slept around mid-night and woke up early the next day to pack our things. It's time to go... already? See more pictures *here*

Davao - day 2

Second day - We woke up early, prepare our bags, got dressed and hit the beach. Paradise Island here we go...

~ In the van on the way to the beach. ~

I prepared for a an hour or two drive but what do you know, the car ride was only 15 minutes. And then it's time to ride a boat bound to our destination. The little angel was crying because she wants to soak in the water already.

~ She refuses to look at the camera because she wants to deep in the water. ~

Then we finally convinced the little kiddo to hop in because there's another beach that we're suppose to go and it's much nicer there. It was.

~ The boat ride to Paradise Island. ~

The boat ride was just 15 minutes and there we were at Paradise. For only Php 100, we enjoyed fresh air, quiet and clear waters.

~ At the entrance... ~

The little angel was literally smiling when we saw and felt the sand on her feet. She shifted to a happy mood instantly.

~ oooohhhh... sand! ~

The little angel and the hubby ran to the shore and worked on the sand. We settled in just in front of the shore. The water was clear and calm.

~ Work in progress... ~

I joined them and of course, more picture taking. Since I don't have a tripod, I needed to put the cam down on the sand and set it on timer mode. And finally took a nice photo of us. I love this shot! Our faces were kinda dark because we were in the shade. Unfortunately, I don't know how to edit this on adobe.

~ This is us. Beach addicts. ~

And of course, while they proceed with their sand jobs, I was out there checking out the water. It was still crystal clear below, just like before when I first came there 10 years ago.

~ It's a whole new world under the sea. ~

After the delicious lunch, we swam a little more and then negotiated with the little kiddo because it was time to take a bath and get dressed. Obviously, she still doesn't want to go.

~ Boat ride home ~

We had tan lines when we got home. Obviously, the little kiddie was so tired in the photo. I kept asking, "Are you sleepy?" and she would answer, "No, mommy..." But look at her sleepy eyes in the picture. See pictures *here*

TGIF

I'm starting this meme and I hope some of you can join me every Friday. Rules are simple: Just list down the things that you're thankful. It could be anything from the shoes you've wanted to answered prayers. And then post the banner, link it back here and don't forget to put your comment so I can visit you. Enjoy!

TGIF!

I'm thankful... because we had a blast in our Davao vacation,
I'm thankful... because I survived another client interview this evening.,
I'm thankful... because I got home safely again,
I'm thankful... simply because I am alive and well.

appetizers

I've been a fan of food ever since we had lifestyle cable TV in the house. I tried a couple of recipes but there's some that I cannot do because the ingredients are not available locally in the market. So I enjoy more if I'm watching my favorite cooking shows. But of course, it would be a blast if I can make a gourmet meal or even host a party and prepare food with my own hands. Some parties here doesn't include appetizers, but when my sister hosted a party, she included appetizers in the menu and it really made a difference with the guest. There's another party coming up and I'm excited t help out.

Davao - day 1

Okay here's our little family trip to Davao. October 2 - 2AM. We were already at the airport. It's the hubby and the little angel's first time to fly so I was really excited. I kept on taking pictures on every thing I see just to document our trip. That's why some of the photos are blurry because I have my hand carry bag on my left shoulder, little angel on my left hand and the camera alone on my right hand.

~ While waiting in-line at the check-in counter. ~

We got this Mabuhay Lounge accommodation invitation because hubby's uncle is working for PAL for many years. I've flown a couple of times but this was my first time to be in the lounge accommodation.

~ Mabuhay lounge accommodation invitation. ~

We took the elevator from the pre-departure area to get to the lounge floor and here's what it looks like inside. After giving the invitation, we were free to do anything from there. Free food--bread (empanada, tarts, cookies, toasts) , sandwiches (mini-burgers, steak, chicken, beef), sliced fresh fruits, and free drinks--coffee, tea, soda, juice (apple, orange, pineapple), milk, hot chocolate. They also have very comfy sofas and a lazy boy seat. And don't forget the wifi connection of course. Oh men, we were in heaven. Thanks uncle! hehehe

~ Mabuhay lounge accommodation: buffet table ~

We went back to the pre-departure area at 4AM because our flight was 4:30AM. And before I knew it, we were getting ready to take-off.

~Look at my eye bags. I haven't slept a wink that night. ~

I kept explaining to the little angel what's happening, what are we doing there and where we're going. She just nodes every time. When we were in the peak of the take off, where you will feel the torque of the plane, the little angel gave me a weird smile which was very funny LOL. And the rest of the flight was a breeze and she fell asleep.

~ Morning nap @ 5AM going to Davao. ~

We arrived safely in Davao at 6:30AM. A family friend picked us up and we went straight to their home in Agdao.

~ On our way to Agdao. Hello Davao! ~

We will be staying at a friend's house kaya ang laking tipid! hehehe. Transportation is also not a problem because they have a starex van that we can use.

~ First class accommodation? yes it is. ~

We just dropped our bags and off we go to eat breakfast and went to Philippine Eagle in Malagos.

~ At the entrance... ~

The place was like a big zoo. Everything's green and the air is fresh. Of course we saw real, live and big Philippines eagles.

~ This is one is at the entrance. We also saw Pag-asa somewhere in a house-like cage. ~

We went straight home at 2pm and slept a few hours. And course, we have to check the local mall so there we went to SM Davao.

~ When I got inside the mall, I thought I was back in Manila. ~

I bought a few things that we need at Watson's. The little angel rode carousel and of course had ice cream.
~ Chocolate and strawberry. Yummy. ~

The little angel fell asleep in the car. We tucked her in the bed and me and the hubby got out of the house to check the neighborhood. Since it's was the barangay's fiesta, we watched this dance contest event in the basketball court area.

~ Look at those moves... impressive. ~

We decided to hit the sack at 12:30am because we'll be going to the beach the next day. See photos *here*
