Vacation is over

My vacation is finally over. I'll be reporting to work tomorrow night and I hope the pain from the scar would not affect the way I work. Anyway, we still have plans to go to the beach next month and maybe I can start jogging two week from now. More plans ahead.

Serious diet

I really need to loose weight big time! I just went to work this week and I was so frustrated to know that my jeans won't fit anymore. Argh! It's such a terrible feeling. All those months of exercise and diet was wasted. Now I'm back to zero again. I know I still can't jog yet because I still feel the pain every now and then. Plus it's still very hard for me to even run fast so serious diet is what I really need now and maybe some diet pill like oxyelite pro results. I'll give this another month and after that, I really really need to jog. Let's see.

Thinking of houses

Hubby and I are thinking of getting our own place this year. I know it'll be a lot of paper works plus a huge adjustment on our budget. I can't think of any place here than living in QC. I can't move anywhere else because we really need to be near our work area. I envy those families who have their own place. I wonder how it feels like living in a lake front home like Branson real estate. But I would not go that far. For now, all we need is a neat and tidy house even if it's small.

Summer 2011

We hit the beach at Hundred islands with my sister and the rest of the family and man, I definitely enjoyed the sea air and sand on my feet. I feel I needed it after that traumatic surgery experience. Although all my shots looked weird except for this one. Love it.

Job alert

I just received some bad news from the office, that another account will cease to exist again. Well I can't blame anyone because a call center job is not a permanent one. But it's just sad to know that me and my officemates might suffer the same fate. Well, I already did, 5 months ago, but I was one of the lucky ones who had an account to transfer to. This made me think that I need to update resume. I know an it degree is an advantage already. If I would transfer to another job again, I will make I'll get retirement benefit because it's hard to stay in the company and leave without anything.

Gallstone story

Gallstone surgery was quite an experience that I will never forget. Whole story *here*

Tuesday, April 05, 2011

Galstone

I just had a surgery last night and had my galstone removed. All I know is that my tummy was aching soo bad that we went to the hospital and the next thing I know, I was being admitted and scheduled for surgery. The operation was quite an experience that I will never forget and Thank God it's over and I'm alive and well. I'm still trying to cope with the pain and I'm trying to ready my mind and body for the pain in the few days and weeks. But I don't want to bury myself on misery and I promise myself that I'll do whatever it takes to get better and be a better person again.

Reunion

Our high school reunion is coming up in a few months time and everybody seems to be planning already. Meetings are conducted every now and then, and POC are assigned on designated tasks. I'm not active on attending meetings and everything but I will definitely attend the reunion. I wonder what they have for souvenir. Maybe a keychain, photo frame or class rings? Let's see.

11 one-ingredient DIY face masks

I used to put avocado on my face when I was in High School and it really worked for me. Then I found this great article in yahoo. 11 one-ingredient DIY face masks! Great FYI guyz!

1. Honey -- A humectant, honey, attracts and retains moisture, so it's great for anyone who wants to combat dry skin. Use a cloth damp with warm water and pat skin to open pores. Smear honey onto skin and leave on for 15 to 30 minutes. Rinse off with warm water, then pat skin with a cloth dampened in cold water to close pores.

2. Raw egg yolk -- Egg yolks are high in vitamin A, a common ingredient in acne-fighting products. Spread on face and neck and leave on skin for 30 minutes. Rinse with cool water.

3. Raw egg white -- You'll get a lifting effect as the protein in egg whites dries on your skin. Beat egg white until frothy and spread on face. Wait until it dries and rinse off with warm water.

4. Grapes -- They contain powerful antioxidants, called polyphenols, which help combat aging. Cut one grape in half and rub lightly all over face.

5. Banana -- Bananas are one of the most nourishing fruits available because they contain magnesium, potassium, iron, zinc, iodine, folic acid, and vitamins A, B, and E, all of which benefit the skin. Mash one overripe banana and spread onto face. Rinse off after 15 to 30 minutes with warm water.

6. Plain yogurt -- Yogurt contains alpha-hydroxy acids, including lactic acid, which are commonly used to help reduce the appearance of fine wrinkles. It's also rich in B-complex vitamins, including B-5, or panthothenic acid, which is commonly used to promote skin healing. Apply on face after cleansing and leave on for 15 to 20 minutes.

7. Apple cider vinegar -- It has a tonic action that promotes blood circulation in the small capillaries that irrigate the skin. It's also antiseptic, preventing the proliferation of bacteria, viruses, or yeast that trigger infection. Dilute apple cider vinegar with two parts water and apply over face with a cotton ball as a toner after washing face every day and every night.

8. Olive oil -- Olive oil is a source of squalene, a natural moisturizer used in many cosmetics. Natural antioxidants found in olive oil include A and E vitamins, as well as some polyphenols. Dab on lips at bedtime if chapped or leave on face overnight. It can also be used to de-frizz hair.

9. Avocado -- The fruit is rich in vitamins, A, C, E, iron, potassium, niacin, and pantothenic acid and its natural emollients. Mash avocado, then leave on skin for 10 minutes. You can also use it to strengthen and condition your hair.

10. Baking soda -- This pantry staple has a gentle abrasive action. Use as an exfoliant for face by adding to your regular cleanser. It also helps neutralize skin's pH.

11. Milk -- Seriously? Yes, seriously. Like yogurt, it contains lactic acid, an alpha-hydroxy acid that is often used to revitalize skin. Swab on face with cotton ball, leave on until your skin feels tight. Rinse off with warm water. Your skin will feel super-soft afterwards.

House help!

I've been stuck here at home ever since the helper left a month ago. Even the hubby's biking schedule were all canceled. I feel bad about it because he was so determined to slim down and go biking everyday but since our schedule doesn't permit us, we're left doing chores and attending to the kiddo instead. I'm beginning to think if I should get aspire diet pills or not but I know, exercise (jogging) is still the best. Anyway, we have decided to get a house help now and we're still waiting. I'm keeping my hopes up.

Gadget sale

I plan to buy the hubby a nice portable player. We're thinking of getting an ipod nano 5th gen because he likes the slim touch and the mini-screen of the unit and the added feature like the camera is definitely a plus plus for us. So we went to the mall last weekend to check but all they have at that time was laptops sale. So I guess the music player will wait until next week. Maybe they'll have a good deal for us, let's us.

Wedding

I love attending weddings because I love to see bridesmaid dresses so colorful and elegant especially the kids. Two weeks from now, we're going to attend the hubby's cousin's wedding and I'm so excited because the kiddo will be one of the flower girls. It's her first time to be with the entourage and I'm still thinking on what to do with her hair. I might put on some curls on her to add more volume. How about my dress? Good thing I bought one this weekend.

Which Jewelry?

Since we're going to the wedding in a few weeks, I'm checking on what kind of jewelry me and the kiddo will wear. Something simple, something elegant or maybe something unique like Aruba jewelry. I might try the simple ones because I'm not a jewelry person by heart. But definitely will put something special for the kiddo because she's one of the entourage. Can't wait.

Wanted: Dream house

Hubby and I have so many plans here in the house but we try to limit them because we're only renting the place. Of course we want a place of our own someday but for now, we try to make everything simple. We are trying to avoid big debts in preparation of a house loan (hopefully). But we can still get online cash advance for minor emergency fees. So the next thing to do is scout our dream house.

Garbage out

Garbage disposal has been a big problem here in the country. People does not seem to care. I remembered when I was in grade school, the government released a notice on how to properly segregate the garbage and again, people does not seem to care. I wish we have the same proper garbage disposal system from other countries. I think they use Insinkerator for food disposal and dry garbage goes outside.

I remembered when my parents arrived home from Dubai, my mom gave me kitchen utensils. She said there a lot more there and she could not decide what to get so she just picked random ones. I was so surprised! Now I'm dreaming more... if we get a chance to go to Dubai, not only we will go site seeing but check out shopping and department store for things to buy for our house. I wish I wish!

Sweat it out!

Hubby planned to re-arrange the furnitures again here in the house. Hubby and kiddo regularly sleeps in the living room now because they say it's colder. I cannot tell because I go to office every night. So maybe moving some furniture will make it more spacious. Spacious enough for me to work-out maybe? I hope so. Because I don't want to take oxyelite forever. I want to work-out also. Sweat it out!

Dream house

Me and my sister had another one of those sister-talks. We're still dreaming of getting that big house for our parent because they retire. I wanted to help but all I can give is moral support for now. Getting that retirement house for our parents is a dream come true for us. I'll probably request for a kick-ass oven, just in case mom wanted to try baking again. Or put on stepping stones in the entrance of her beautiful garden. And for dad? I nice and comfortable music room will do.

Biking in the city

The hubby went back to his hobby--biking. Some of my friends say he already lost a couple of pounds. But I cannot really tell because we see each other everyday and noticing some like that is very hard to tell. I'm thinking of giving him usplabs jack3d, it's a pre-workout supplement so that he cannot get sick just in case he over do it. He wanted to go out biking in the mountains but I think he's still not ready for it yet. Maybe a month or two biking in the city for now.

Cross fingers

There are a lot of fat burners out there and I wanted to try one. So I search for a week just to find that right one to buy. I think I've been to several hundred of website and review site just to read comments and opinions. Good thing I found one and I wanted to try it, but the question now is, where can i buy apidexin here? I might check on online purchasing. I hope transactions on these kind of field is smooth. I'm crossing my fingers.

It works

I became curious on pills when I saw this commercial on TV that promises good skin and all. So I search online for this particular pill and I found out that it works for others and others not. Some of the users became depressed and all but I refuse to believe that it'll do the same effect on me, so I tried it anyway. Results are okay. I have less break-out now and the protection I need every month. It's much more expensive than your regular hgh supplements but it works. I think hgh supplements will work the same way too.

Promise kept

The best best acne treatment I undergo was with Dermclinic. It's a local skin care clinic here that promises great looking skin and I must say, they did keep their promise. After an eventful deliberation with myself, I finally did went through their treatment and all I can say it--I'm glad I did and it's addictive. The reason why I stopped attending the sessions is because my funds are way too low already. If I have the spare money, I would definitely go back there and have that great looking skin I wanted.

Those days

I love to jog. Sometimes I feel my exercise time is not enough and I want to jog some more. But of course, I don't want to over do it. I miss the days when I can jog and exercise for a couple of hours before going to work. I also take fat burners to go with it. I search on the fat burner reviews that if I take fat burners while on training it'll help eliminate the fat faster and it did. I miss those days.

Awards

If I could give awards and trophies to people I know, I would definitely give one each to my parents. They are the BEST individuals in the world. Our parent-daughter relationship with each has grown mature now that we have the little kiddo with us. They are even more supportive even financially. And the best daughter award, of course goes to the little kiddo. She's been my strength, inspiration and the very reason why I keep going and fighting to survive this so-called life.

Wood finish

This cold weather makes it very hard to take a bath even in the middle of the day. The water is so cold like it came out of the fridge. And what's it make it more colder in the tiled floor so I always wear slipper even when taking a bath. Maybe it would be warmer if we have laminate floors. Wood finish makes it look warmer and calmer don't you think?

Kid's fancy jewelry

I bought the little kiddo a set of earings and neckless for her birthday. We bought it in the kid's accessories in the nearby mall. Hubby and I were planning to get her a nice neckless with a letter "L" pendant but we ran out of time unfortunately. So a fancy pair of jewelry will do for now. Well she's still young anyway. I wish I could have bought a pair of sterling silver pandora instead of the ones in the mall. Next time.

Ok dentist

I finally convinced that kiddo to go to the Dentist. Well, after four weeks (I think) of asking, she finally agreed last night. I'm glad we had that 'mother-daughter' serious talk and that really made her think about what's gonna happen. I'm happy that she can understand important things like that. Anyway, we still need to set a day and an appointment with the Dentist. Maybe next weekend because our weekend (now) is kinda full.

CDO Skinless Longganisa

I hate longganisa. No question about it. But everything changed when I ate skinless longganisa from Tuguegarao. It was the best. But I don't where I can buy some because I don't my friend (who buys some for us) anymore. Then I discovered CDO skinless longganisa. Wow. I love longganisa again hahaha! Remember to buy this pack from your local CDO distributor, like in the market (palengke) and not in the grocery stores because it's only P40 from the local CDO distributor while it's P70 from the grocery store. Happy eating.

Get back in shape!

I feel I want to cry after checking on some of my recent pictures. My figure is huge again! I think I'm back on where I started last year. Oh no please. I don't want that whale-body again. I need to compromise myself so I made a decision that I will start over again (even if it's hard, I know) next week (after my period) and take some weight loss supplements that works to help me get back in shape AND loose more. Please make this work.

Start clean

I'm so proud of myself because I've been clean for almost 6 months. I plan to stay that way even if those brands of cigars are very tempting. I learned to control my urges through bad times and I'm really good at diverting my attention to something else rather than going to the wrong path. I still continue to influence my friends for the past few weeks and I still waiting for them to quit. I hope this new year will be the time for them to start clean. Let's see.

Panic attack

I know I've been eating regular again and it really doesn't help at all. I need to go back to my diet routine and exercise fast. We have a family wedding to attend to plus summer is fast approaching! And starting to feel that panic attack because I'm not sure if I can do it in 3 months. If only I have those foods that burn fat, it'll really help me to get back in shape.

Torn between two gadgets

Who doesn't want a ipod touch 3rd gen right? God I wish I can buy one this year. I've been ranting on this gadget for the last 2 years (yeah ever since the first one came out), and the 4th gen is even better! Imagine a multi-media player with wifi and now with camera? I can't wait to get my hands on it! 4th gen is like a dream come true. I've checking on the price on the web and it's surprisingly affordable. Maybe because of the Ipad fever. What the heck! An iTouch will definitely work for me. But something came up--now I'm torn between two gadgets... an iTouch or an Oven hahaha!

Start a site

I never thought I would be blogging like this 5 years ago and here I am, ranting everything on the world wide web. At first I was completely lost when my friend suggested to monetize our sites. It was a dream come true for us to be able to earn on what we love to do. I wish I had the chance to get assistance from pci compliance hosting. But it's never too late. Maybe we can get a deal next year and renew our contract from them. But for now, I know me and my fellow superfriends are enjoying the benefits of years of blogging. Maybe you can start a site too. Who knows right.

BORED

I have anything but watch tv and facebook for the last 4 days. Days of bum is starting to bore me to death. I haven't done anything productive in the house. I feel locked up inside the apartment but naturally I'm not. I have the option to go out but I don't and I dunno why. It's like I'm waiting for something... Anyway, work will start next week and since we're starting over again, we'll be on night shift again. Hopefully I'll still have the time for the band because I'm with a new department again, so I'm in the adjusting period (again). I wish I can do what I really really love and make money out of it. So do I really love to do? Cook and play Music.

Busy friends

It's only a few days before the year ends and I remembered that I haven't been to the movie house for quite awhile. Saving money is the main reason why I didn't hang out in the mall nowadays, another is my friends whom I used to go out with are all busy with work. I tried to contact them a few days ago, to have a get-together lunch or dinner maybe and watch one of those kick-ass high-tech movies with those flying cars and radar detectors, but still the holidays made everybody more busier than ever. I hope we can go out early next year and celebrate life and be Thankful for giving us another year ahead.

WORD of the day

haptic \HAP-tik\, adjective:

1. Relating to the sense of touch; tactile.

noun:
1. The science that deals with the sense of touch.
Why do people want haptic augmented reality? So a mother-to-be can touch her unborn child in the womb.
-- Bruce Sterling, "Beyond the beyond: Augmented Reality: Haptic Augmented Reality", Wired, May 2010
Loats would hear her get up at night, making her haptic way through the dark rooms, peering through the windows into the night for the telltale lanterns of the Americans.
-- Annie Proulx, Accordion Crimes

Haptic derives from the Greek haptikos, "to grasp."

Missing the Parents

My parents went to Dubai to be with my two sisters for Christmas and I admit I missed them. Because there's this one time, I was at my parent's room watching TV and they were not there. I really love the home theater system in the master bedroom. I'm still in the process of pursuing them to get theater seats to go with the system, and not to mention the popcorn maker too! haha! Anyway, they're going to come home in a few days and we are all excited to spend the New Year with them!

Tuesday, December 21, 2010

WORD of the day

rococo \roh-kuh-KOH\, adjective:

1. Ornate or florid in speech, writing, or general style.
2. Pertaining to a style of painting developed simultaneously with the rococo in architecture and decoration, characterized chiefly by smallness of scale, delicacy of color, freedom of brushwork, and the selection of playful subjects as thematic material.

noun:
1. A style of architecture and decoration, originating in France about 1720, evolved from Baroque types and distinguished by its elegant refinement in using different materials for a delicate overall effect and by its ornament of shellwork, foliage, etc.

adjective:
1. In the manner of, or suggested by rococo architecture, decoration, or music or the general atmosphere and spirit of the rococo.
Whereas the author's early works, like "Dead Babies" and "The Rachel Papers," were animated by a satiric gift for social observation and a deliciously black wit, this novel tackles the same themes - sex and identity and coming of age - with weary determination, and lacquers them all with pompous, inanely rococo meditations about the nature of art and truth.
-- Michiko Kakutani, "The Sexual Revolution Dissected", New York Times, May 2010
"Is this some sort of grandiose and rococo midlife crisis? Are you that afraid of getting old? Aging is the most natural thing in the world." He snorted.
-- Tom Robbins, Jitterbug perfume

Rococo originates as a humorous alteration of the French rocaille, "shellwork, pebble-work", refering to the excessive use of shell designs in the style of various French monarchs.

Handy-man

My dad installed the water pumps at Fort Wilhelmina in Cavite where my BIL's rest house is location. Now the water there is running smoothly with any problem. And now I think my dad also installed an engine driven pumps from the WET Centrum in Las Pinas, where BIL's family business resides. I think my dad should be building maintenance guy at WET Centrum when he retires. His skills will definitely be in good use there. I wish I can be like him, but I'm handy-man hahaha!

Be safe

I noticed in the movies, that they advised their kids to carry pepper sprays for self defense and protection. It's like a typical self-defense tool most of us hardly have right. So it got me thinking that I want to carry a piece of equipment that will help me in times of trouble or probably can save someone's life, we'll never know right. So I thought I need more than a pepper spray. I think I want something powerful than that and compact at the same time. Not to mention, it should be easy to use. So I thought I'd get a stun baton. It's compact and will surely fit inside my backpack or even my purse. I even browsed the Internet on how to use a stun baton and I found a good site for that.

Internet is really a must for me because I wouldn't know these things right. It helped me in so many ways--cooking, house repairs, news and now self-defense. Kids today are lucky. They can get more information and be aware at the same time. And if you'll ask me, I think everyone should be cautious and be educated. Knowing is always the best and prevention is the key. Be safe to all.

Party on the 18th

It's just a few days left before our account's EOL party. We agreed to have a hard copy of the songs that we're suppose to play on that day and print some more for our friends who will jam with us. And so I was assigned to do the tasks. I'm still collating the songs and tried already tried to play them with my classical guitar if the chords are correct. What I'm worried about now is that I don't have any inkjet printers. I know it's gonna be expensive if I'll have a 20 page printed out in the Internet shop. Good thing, one of the managers arrived and we can have these printed out for free in the office. So EOL party here we come!

All I want Christmas is...

If someone ask me what I want for Christmas, I would say a bag of groceries or a nice oven for my kitchen. But personally, I really wanted to have the new iTouch (yeah with the camera!) and a very sleek and high-tech cell phones. I don't have any particular model in my mind right now. Anything would do as long as it's touch screen, with wifi, great camera, awesome player--and all that jazz. You know how cell phones are made now. It's like "everything-in-it" gadget. So maybe someone might be reading this post and decided to buy me one! Santa Claus? hahaha!

During the 1990s, armed escort vehicles began to proliferate in Lima and cars ceased stopping at red traffic lights. Professional companies fitted more and more electric fences round high- and middle income settlements.
-- Alan Gilbert, The mega-city in Latin America

Proliferate is a back-formation from the biology term proliferation, circa 1873.

Medical services

Wouldn't it be swell if we have some kind of Medicare part D plan services here in the country. I read in some countries that they have Social Security Disability for people with, of couse disability. These kind of services is popular in the first world countries and it's sad that it's fully promoted here in some parts of Asia. That's why I'm very proud of the volunteers who still push medical services even if it's free. I guess we're still lucky.

Booth 4026 {WABSHAQ} @ World Bazaar Festival

World Bazaar Festival is indeed a great place to buy stuff for the Holiday season. I saw a lot of nice gift ideas with awesome discounts. And what I was impress was the food section of the place. Organizers maintained cleanliness--which is important of course. Food served hot off the grill and he refreshments were served refreshingly cold. I think they were using stainless steel drums for the drinks to stay cold. At the end of the day, I end up buying more food rather than gifts for my family hahaha...

Don't forget to visit us at BOOTH 4026 - WABSHAQ! See you there!

Tourists were known for their heliolatry, excessive drinking, and promiscuity; their prearranged cultural excursions were notoriously shallow and contrived.

Everything's going wireless

Have you heard of a wireless home theatre system? All I know is the new home theatre system but it's just recent that I heard it's already wireless. Technology is definitely upgrading and before we know it, everything's going wireless already! woah! Now that's something to expect in the future. But before that, I think I'll settle for the basic home theatre system for now.

WORD of the day

couvade \koo-VAHD\, noun:

A practice in certain cultures in which the husband of a woman in labor takes to his bed as though he were bearing the child.
Whether men experience couvades or not, there are plenty of other birth rituals for them to partake in: sitting through prenatal classes, going to ultrasound appointments, strapping on thirty pound lead empathy bellies, attending coed baby showers, making smalltalk during epidural sessions, photographing the birth, cutting the umbilical cord. . .
-- Tina Cassidy, Birth: The Surprising History of How We Are Born
Although husband involvement in the birth process is not uncommon in preindustrial societies, as we showed in Chapter 5, the emerging American practice of having the husband present at the delivery itself is almost unique in world societies. The increasing popularity of this new form of "couvade" in the United States is particularly intriguing theoretically and represents an unexplored issue in social-psychological research.
-- Karen Paige, Jeffery M. Paige, The politics of reproductive ritual

Couvade comes from the French couver, "to incubate or hatch."

Emptiness

During my graveyard shift, I was always running out of the office just to catch to the first LRT trip to Cubao. I love to see the train almost empty. It's like it's so quiet and peaceful.

Almost

We've been continuously doing re-arranging and sorting of old clothes here in the house. And by the looks of it, it's now spacious compared from the first we arrive here. Good thing the furnitures haven't broke down yet (hopefully they will not) except for the bathroom exhaust fan. I ask the hubby to check bathroom fans in the mall because it'll really help get the hot air out especially if we've using the bathroom. Anyway, we only need a cabinet for our clothes and put some extra shelf in the kitchen and that's it. But if we can get an oven, why not. Except that, there's no space for that here! oh man...

Gift

My mom's been the greatest person to me this year. She's always there to lend a helping hand with me and my family. And she's been doing until we moved again. And you know how have it is move tsk tsk. She even lend couple of bucks when we're all out of money. I hate moving, but if ever we're going to move again, hopefully it'll be the last time or it'll be to our own house. So since Christmas is fast approaching I might get my mom some wrinkle cream or calcium milk and vitamins to give back the good dead she has done for us. We are lucky to have families.

Jump to fitness

I've been wanting to jog for weeks now. I tried to go out two weeks ago and went to the nearby subdivision. I jogged for awhile but it bothers me that there's so many dog poop in the street and not the mention the dog running around. And you know how I hate dogs! Anyway, I'm thinking of other fat burners that I can do here at home with limited space. Unfortunately, I can't lie down on the floor and do crunches because (again) limited space. So I'm thinking of stationary jogging and jumping rope. I can jump rope outside the house so I might buy jumping rope if I have the time to go to the mall. Next project: Jump to fitness!

Quality family time

I passed by the men's clothing in the nearby mall on my way home yesterday. Then I noticed that Christmas is around the corner and I had to get the hubby a gift soon. I'm still wondering what should I get him this year because I know for sure his mother would probably send a lot of shirt and pants, like what she do every year. So I'm thinking of getting him a laptop maybe? but it's way out of my budget. Hmm... I'd probably treat him and the little kiddo somewhere nice where we can enjoy some quality family time. I think that's more important than any other gift from the store.

Acsonix I want

What can I say? Yasmin pills makes me skin clearer and I'm loving it. I know it's more expensive compared to other pills but this one has great effects on me so I don't have the motive to change brands yet. Now I'm scouting on facial masks that shrink pores because I think my pores are still huge hehehe But I know, it'll really help. Like I read an article on acsonix reviews that acsonix actually helps shrink pores and tightens skin. So if I have cleaner and clearer skin, I'll surely prevent acne from coming.

Emptiness

One of my favorite things to do is dining-out, trying new a resto or simple hanging out with a friend or two. But what I love the most is eating-out with the family. We usually eat pizzas and pasta, plus ice creams for dessert. This time I tried something different -- Pizza hut's 'Three-cheses Ravioli'.. and it's heaven! And you guess it right, 3-minutes and plate was almost empty!

Busy in our new apartment

We are finally settled-in in our new apartment. I can't we had to much junk until we moved again. And moving is the only way to realize that you have so much because packing is such a nightmare. And I haven't mentioned the un-packing yet! hahaha. Anyway, our clothes are still in boxes (except for the kiddo) and we always dig in those boxes just to get something to wear. Anyway, we plan to built a cabinet for our clothes and maybe if we have time, we can put up an extra shelf for my baking tools. Anyhow, I found two playstation 3 somewhere in the boxes and I didn't know we have two! Hubby said, one from his brother and the other is from his BIL. I told him to give it back to lessen the clustters in the house. I doubt if he can play now because we still have so many things to do in the house.

WORD of the day

hegira \he-JAY-ruh\, noun:

1. A journey to a more desirable or congenial place.
2. The flight of Muhammad from Mecca to Medina to escape persecution a.d. 622: regarded as the beginning of the Muslim Era.
I do not mean to suggest a back-to-the-future hegira to a mythical golden age of wise and benevolent institutions, canonical disciplines, and noble professions but rather a reinvigoration of our disciplines, institutions, and professions around what we do not know about how we should think.
-- Michael Joyce, "Interspace: Our Commonly Valued Unknowing", Academic Commons
With a sublime indifference to popular superstition, or rather because they did not think of it till all their arrangements were completed, the Misses Leaf had accomplished their grand hegira on a Friday. Consequently, their first day at No. 15 was Sunday.
-- Dinah Maria Mulock Craik, Mistress and maid, Volume 1

Hegira, whether referring to the event in the history of Islam or a general sense of the word, comes from the Arabic hajara, "to depart."

Check out music from Marry Me Amy

Megamind

I can't wait to watch this movie! And the kiddo asked if she can go with her cousin to watch... and they are only 4 and 5 years old! hahaha. They enjoyed each others company alot and maybe wants to spend time watching the movie together. I wish they would release this NOT in 3D because it's too expensive. I know it's awesome to see the film comes to life but some kids prefer NOT in 3D, like my kiddo. She sometimes remove the 3D glasses because the glasses were too big for her and kept falling down her face.

Anyway, this is another DreamWorks Animation film and I'm sure it's gonna be good. Can't wait!

No meat

I haven't done my groceries yet and I think I really need to go because our supplies here are running out fast. But I think we can survive in a few days but just cooking simple foods and maybe buy some fish instead of the usual meat. If we're settled down here in a few weeks, I might get more fish for us because it's healthier and maybe get some weight loss supplements for the hubby so he can slim down. So no meat for us in awhile.
