Prodigy

Me and the little kiddo is hooked with watching youtube videos lately. We've been watching videos from cute and funny babies to animals and some amazing stuff. You'd be surprise what people to do to get on their free time and even have the time to record and upload it online. Anyway, it's been pretty entertaining I must say. What amazes me even more is that there are a lot, I'd say A LOT of talented musicians out there, and there are pretty young too! Makes you wanna think that your kid could be the next child prodigy right?. Oh well if that happened to us, we would be like so thrilled. And as a parent, I would definitely support her/him by providing music instrument--from tuning hammer to piano/guitar/violin and exposure to extensive lessons. As a musician myself, it'll be pretty exciting. For now, we'll be watching youtube videos the little kiddo and hopefully baby lj would be a musician like her mom and ate.

The Star-Spangled Banner became the US national anthem in 1931. Prior to that, it was My Country ‘Tis of Thee,” which had the same melody as Britian’s national anthem God Save the Queen, which is based on music written by John Bull in 1619. Bull’s melody has been used more than any song in national anthems.

Music

I lot has changed in the music industry. I miss the golden days of the 90s wherein alternative and rock bands reign MTV and the radio. I remembered leaving the television on on MTV channel and watch for hours. During summer vacation I would play in the guitar every song on the songs hits. I would also save my allowance to buy that much awaited cassette tape I was eying for several weeks. Years had passed, some artists moved-on with family their family, some stayed in the music industry and others started a new career as procedures etc. I know a lot of musicians wanted to produce their own music. That's why I became curious on how they do it. I know for a  fact that music engineers use the uad satellite because of its many inputs and superb output. But when I dug deeper and made researched more on the subject, I came to realize that it is not my thing haha. It's pretty much complicated for me, so I'll probably stick with playing and making music. I guess, I'm one of those artist who wanted to stay in the music industry performing. Peace out.

Abroad

The hubby finally passed all the requirements for his new job offer abroad and now we're waiting. We haven'y prepared any of his stuff yet and we'll probably do that once we get all the details and confirmation flight. I also plan to do a major clean-up of our room when he leaves. I haven't decided though on what to do with this sofa bed. The kiddo said, it's not that comfortable so I'm still thinking if we're gonna replace it with Foam Factory cushions or not. Kiddo's toy will have to go somewhere and a new cabinet for her clothes is also a must. But for now, we're enjoying our time together as a family and hopefully me and kiddo can visit hubby abroad.

Good question

Funny sometimes I wonder how FB took all our time. We cannot resist not checking the news feed. It's like it's part of our lives. Sometimes I wanted to resist the temptation and do something useful online, like read "real" news, research and blog hop (which I haven't done for quite some time). I wanted to expand my knowledge like check new gears, like traktor kontrol s4, or get more ideas on my next cupcake project. The real question here is.... Is the world ready to let go of the social network? That's a good question!

I'm trying also get my baking time on track. It's hard to get clients after Christmas because it seems like everybody's paying their credit card debts hahaha. coins

November means it's time to make the Christmas list. I know it's early but in my case, I want to be ahead of time. I don't want to be in the middle of the Christmas rush shopping just like before. So I'd make sure everything is setup early. I also do my research online and finding more ways and ideas for Christmas gifts. There's one I found about customizing coins on challenge coin from coinsforanything.com. I think it's a very very cool souvenir especially on company Christmas parties, token of appreciation awards and souvenirs. I'm sure it'll kick ass on every celebration.

Amp

We've been piling up songs from our old playlist, checking chords and jamming our hearts out. We're trying to get as much songs so we can make it at least 3 sets for the upcoming gig this December. We've been doing our jam sessions at home and it's good because we can get to play without rental, plus the amps are fired up and well. Speaking of amps, we haven't got any back-up guitar amp yet. I'm checking the blackstar ht-5r online and I wanted to try it out first before we make any purchases. So the question now is... Is it available in our country?

Project Band

Our project band is starting to make progress. We found our temporary drummer which we met at Papsie's birthday couple of weeks ago. Hopefully we'll get all the songs done before our December gig. I know I have a lot of things to do like work, family activities, baking and probably squeeze in some band practice in between. I wish I can do all those things my heart desire, but there's just some responsibility that's always the first priority. Multi-tasking to the highest level.

Shop for furniture

Every end of the year, we don't usually spend our hard earned 13th month pay on cellphones and gadgets. What we buy is appliances or furniture that we really really need. Last year, we bought a new bed frame because we were sleeping on the floor for a couple of months hahaha. Since the one we bought was cheaper than in the malls, we also bought sofa bed for the kido. This coming Holiday, we plan to get a new dresser for the kiddo, because her current one is about to fall off (any time now!). Yup it's been her dresser since she was born haha. I hope we can find a cheaper one so we'll have extra to buy a memory foam topper for the bed. Bed springs are starting to come off and a new mattress is quite expensive. Can't wait to shop for furniture.

Can't wait to bake!

I'm happy and thrilled that I'm getting orders for the past few days. Good feedbacks from clients really made my day every time. I really need a printer so I can have easy access if I need to print a sticker label. My sister said labels are very important, especially if the customer wanted to order more. I recently visited netopia to print my label and a page cost Php30 and they don't even provide the paper! Grrrr.. So the next time I visit the mall, I'm off to see how much a printer costs. Christmas is fast approaching and I need to have my products recognize. Hopefully I'll get more order in the coming holiday. Since I'm standardizing my recipes, I think I need a biometric safe for it, for safe keeping! hahaha! Anyway, I have a lot of recipes lined-up and hopefully I can more on my list of items for sale. Dream

When I was starting to play music, I remembered I was happy with my plain old acoustic guitar. Years past and I learned a lot from jam sessions and gigs. What I learn along the way was how to pick my instrument. I'm a Fender person when I comes to bass guitars. Luckily, I have my own re-issue P.bass. And if ever I'm gonna be a lead guitarist, I would definitely go with the gibson les paul at musicians friend. The tone of this guitar is really outrageous, it makes me wanna get one for the sake of having one. Good idea hahaha./

I've been a Internet surfer ever since the Internet was introduced here in our location. And I'm not surprise to see everything online--like buy&sell, order online, and even cigar auctions online.  And I know for sure that everybody cannot end the day without going online. It brings two far away places together, like chat and video conferencing. Amazing how Internet evolved in our lives. It makes the world small. Somehow.

Repair the washer

Thank GOD we have house help. Now I'm trying to convert my time from house chores to baking time and exercise time and I can't wait to bake! I already hit the grounds on jogging and it really feels good to let all the sweat out. I'm also grateful for not doing the laundry for the time in months. But I feel bad when our washer broke down the other. Now the house help needs to do everything by hands. I really need to remind to get a washer repair because I hate to see being done manually.

Future

Hubby is still looking for a job abroad and I'm praying that he'll go soon. I know it's a risk to have him work overseas but over seeing our condition here is some what close to hopeless. God is still on our side because this past couple of month, hubby was able to undergo training on welding, mechanic etc. He also needs to be familiar with basic carpentry like milling machines and vices, which I'm sure he'll do great. I'm still hopeful and I know God will bless us a bright future.

This is their first time there and we are all excited. I borrowed my sister's van for our transportation and the hubby booked us a place to stay. One thing left to do is plan our itinerary which I'm sure is much easier to do. Yup we're definitely off to Baguio in a couple of weeks!

Fridge talk

We replaced our old fridge after we moved here to the new house. My mom was so excited, she just picked a brand in the mall and had it delivered asap, and not knowing the pros and cons of that brand. And later we did found out that this kind of brand has the disadvantage of building a big block of ice at the fridge wall inside which makes it more inconvenient because not the food get ruins but we have the defrost even week. My mom wants to sell it again and I suggested that we research first before we buy. But I already have one in mind hehehe, and that the new samsung rf197acrs. It has this cool window-like door, internal led lighting and ice maker. Samsung brands are really kicking off this year. Besides the Samsung galaxy tab that I have, maybe we'll get the Samsung fridge as soon as we get of the current one.

Labor day and Ironman3 poster at Mcdo

Happy Labor day! We went to bulacan for the fiesta thing and had lunch at Max's in SM Marilao. We went straight home after and the hot weather really made us very tired. Kiddo and I felt asleep (Thank God for A/C) and we woke up, it's already 5pm. We decided to eat at Mcdonald's near our place because we wanted to check-out the kiddie crew workshop for the kiddo. I ordered the usual happy meal, chicken meal and lo and behold, there's an Ironman3 meal for the adults.. for a choice of quarter pounder, big mac or big and tasty... it comes with a large fries and drink. Best part is you can choose from those 4 posters! (I chose poster number 1) So the meal and the poster is only 199. So I think there's more reason to go to mcdo, not just because of the kiddie crew, or the big and tasty haha! But because of the Ironman3 posters.

I remembered the time when jogging and exercising was A-MUST for me and I really miss those days. I miss the time when I feel about myself, I feel alive everyday... and now I'm guilty for not doing it anymore. I need a boost-up! Fast. I need motivation and a really start-up. I've been telling that to myself for a week and hopefully I can put those words into action this week (as in tomorrow). I wanna live... I wanna be alive.

So I'm thinking of getting that jade yoga mat and start ASAP! Goal to self. Jog everyday.
