~Yes. And yes a passport too.

THOSE BORN 1920-1979

I find this some how true. Read on...

THOSE BORN 1920-1979
READ TO THE BOTTOM FOR QUOTE OF THE MONTH BY JAY LENO. IF YOU DON'T READ ANYTHING ELSE---VERY WELL STATED.
TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED the 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's!!
~ First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant.
~ They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes. ~ Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints.
~ We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.
~ As infants &children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats, seat belts or air bags.
~ Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.
~ We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.
~ We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.
~ We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank Kool-aid made with sugar, but we weren't overweight because... WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!
~ We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.
~ No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K.
~ We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.
~ We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet or chat rooms.......
~ WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!
~ We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents.
~ We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.
~ We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not poke out very many eyes.
~ We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them!
~ Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!
~ The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!
~ These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!
~ The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
~ We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!
If YOU are one of them CONGRATULATIONS!
You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good .
While you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave (and lucky) their parents were.

Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?!

The quote of the month is by Jay Leno:
'With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?'

Life

I'm here at my parents house for the night. Long story. Nothing bad. I just spend the night because I was so tired and sleepy from that shopping trip yesterday at 168 mall. I'm waiting for my parents to arrive because they are going to drive me to Bulacan. Unfortunately, I have tons of things with me for my daughter's birthday on Saturday and I don't have a car to bring them home. But they have the big heart. So might as well use my time wisely and wait for them instead. Oh how I miss my daughter. I haven't seen her in a day and I'm already missing her too much. That explains why I'm still here in the country and working my ass off with this 9 hour shift in the office. If it weren't for my daughter, I could be in Dubai or Singapore by now. But I'm not blaming anyone nor my daughter. I'm simple happy that I'm able to provide for her. We Filipinos has the mid set of having a baby after getting married. Yeah, I'm married and happily living with my hubby and daughter. But there are couples I know who still doesn't have any babies after years of married life. Maybe God might think it's not yet time for them to have one, I dunno. It's mystery but I know there's always a reason for everything. Blessings comes in to us but yet, you cant have it all. Some are rich but suffers from depression. Some are rich with friends but not rich in money. Life simply teaches us to many things. We just have to live with it.

The banner

I was tweaking again some settings on this blog, when I thought what to have for the banner. I tried to look for any picture that I have on the hard drive. I uploaded the watermark my sister gave me last for my pictures. Unfortunately, I am not using it anymore because since we moved back in Bulacan, I don't have photoshop anymore. Oh yeah, the computer here is kinda primitive so I can't actually install photoshop. So I use paint. Pathetic huh? So anyway, I tried to upload it and walla! It looked nice. So I thought of changing the Lizzzdls to Lizzie's pod instead. I'm still waiting for sister M to send me the finish product. That's why I'm still not publishing this new link on my other site.

Next project: Buy a domain name.

Tweaking...

I've been doing a lot of surveys these past few days while I tweak some settings and figure out what would be the theme for this blog. I really wanted to put up another blog since I'm already stable with my first home blog. I also did changed the home link from lizzzieworld.blogspot.com to lizziepod.blogspot.com. Unfortunately, somebody else owned the link lizzieworld and friends always get to her site rather than here. Because she has 2 letter z while I had 3 letter z on the link. When I saw my ipod, I thought "pad" would be a nice word to go with my name. Which also had different meaning to me... pod = home. So then came Lizziepad. I hope my friends would not get lost anymore.

What Should Your Superpower Be?

Your Superpower Should Be Invisibility

You are stealth, complex, and creative.
You never face problems head on. Instead, you rely on your craftiness to get your way.
A mystery to others, you thrive on being a little misunderstood.
You happily work behind the scenes... because there's nothing better than a sneak attack!

Why you would be a good superhero: You're so sly, no one would notice... not even your best friends

Your biggest problem as a superhero: Missing out on all of the glory that visible superheroes get

This so called Life

I attended a wake last night after work. I was teary-eyed upon looking at the mother of the child. Yes, our 4-year-old neighbor died yesterday morning. I was feeling very sad and sorry for the mother. Her eyes were already red from crying. I can't imagine how she's feeling at that very moment. As we talked on what had happened, I sense that they accepted the fact that her son was already gone and they did everything they could do to save him.

This reminds me that life is one of the precious things we have. We should live our lives to the fullest because we can never take back this life once it's gone. But what does life really means? Where does it come from? It is the soul that brings this earthly body to life? It's really a mystery to me and I think it will take me life time to understand it.

As I pray for the boy's soul to go to heaven, I realized something very important. I realized how important this so called life to me. That I should cherish every moment in my life and never let any chance and opportunity pass me by.

It's time to be happy. Let's celebrate life to the fullest.

New start

Okay okay! I'm gonna really start this blog as my personal journal. I haven't got any official theme yet but I have a domain name in mine. I already asked for the free web hosting and hopefully nobody will get the domain name I want. This will be a new start for me and I'll try to update this journal everyday.
