Anyone else, but you

I got addicted to the OST ever since I watched JUNO. My sister was kind enough to get me a copy of the whole album. I feel light, fresh and in-love when I hear the song by The Moldy Peaches. The video I got is from the movie. What cute couple.

You're a part time lover and a full time friend
The monkey on you're back is the latest trend
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else... But you.

I kiss you on the brain in the shadow of a train
I kiss you all starry eyed, my body's swinging from side to side
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else... But you.

Here is the church and here is the steeple
We sure are cute for two ugly people
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else... But you.

The pebbles forgive me, the trees forgive me
So why can't, you forgive me?
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else... But you.

I will find my nitch in your car
With my mp3 DVD rumple-packed guitar
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else... But you.

Du du du du du du dudu
Du du du du du du dudu
Du du du du du du dudu du

Up up down down left right left right B A start
Just because we use cheats doesn't mean we're not smart
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else... But you.

You are always trying to keep it real
I'm in love with how you feel
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else... But you.

We both have shiny happy fits of rage
You want more fans, I want more stage
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else... But you.

Don Quixote was a steel driving man
My name is Adam I'm your biggest fan
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else... But you.

Squinched up your face and did a dance
You shook a little turd out of the bottom of your pants
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else... But you.

Happy again

Although I was not able to see the little angel the whole, I am still happy. A part of me was satisfied because I was able to bond with two of my friends this afternoon. We held our first band practice at my parents house because the instruments was there. I'm so happy that Aimz finally Lowie. Unfortunately, my sister J was not able to join us because of unavoidable circumstances. But we are all satisfied and obviously looking forward until our next jam session. Hopefully, my sister could join us too. It's good to be playing again.

ChubbyLisa

We welcomed a new zitros member last November 8, 2007 and she's Wilisa Aiverine, my niece. And look at her now! She's all grown up and chubby. That's why we call her ChubbyLisa haha! She's so cute with her rosey chicks. The little angel and her cousin Amandine (Willisa's sister) can't wait for her to grow up. But for now, they love to cuddle in bed with her.

~ ChubbyLisa =) ~

At last

Yes at last the little angel is eating rice thank goodness. We were starting to get worried for the last couple months because toddlers I know are now consuming more solid foods. We regularly eat dinner with the little angel but she would just play with her food. Last week, the hubby got angry that made the little angel opened her mouth and had a spoonful. She finished her plate and I'm so proud of her. She didn't cry or anything. She was pleased because we praised her for her good doing. At 2 years old, she's potty trained and eating a lot. Next project, teach her to speak fluently. I love being a mom.

Feeling a little down

Yes, I'm feeling a little down today because the computer at home is super slow now. I can't even post a picture on blogger that's why I don't have any entry for the weekend snapshot. Now I'm thinking of the wordless wednesday haayyy. I'll be getting my sister's external Western Digital HD this coming weekend so hopefully it'll work faster after I transfer my files. If not, I'm thinking of getting the spare computer at my parents house and bring it to Bulacan because purchasing a new laptop is still out of the budget. But I'm thinking the WD HD might do the trick. Let's wait.

Passport

My sister told me that they spend almost an hour in the photo studio just to have Amandine's picture taken for her passport. She told me that they already did everything but the Amandine would just not look at the camera. I scanned the closet and good thing the little angel had one dress with collar. I topped it with a jacket because the dress is sleeveless and it turn out to be okay. The hubby and I were expecting to spend also 45 minutes in the photo studio but fortunately, just two shots and we were done! Good girl. But now I thought, I don't have any funny story to tell hehe.

Welcome home

Everybody knows how sad I was when I lost my Fender Bass. I felt that all the world came down on me on that tragic day. And I know it's time to move on. Last Sunday, me and my dad went to JB Music Store to check out their items when my eye caught this acoustic bass guitar on the stand and I ended up paying for this baby.

~ It's time to move on... ~

I know my Fender bass is way better than this but this is my new baby now. Welcome home!

Frustrating

Don't you find it frustrating when something doesn't work? I've been complaining for the 2 days why I can't post a picture on blogger. That's why I missed the 'Weekend Snapshot'. I can't figure out if it is the Internet connection or the computer. I've noticed the computer is slower than the usual slow ever since I saved the pictures from last Saturday. I'm assuming it's eating all the memory. I really need the external HD badly or better yet a new computer! I'll try again to post a picture when I get to the office just to isolate it if it really the Internet or the computer.

Monday, February 25, 2008

Not working

I'm excited to post some pictures for the weekend snapshot but this Add Image option on blogger is not working. I've trying to upload the file since last night. Tried it also this morning, and also now but failed. I'm not sure if the Internet here is slow or my computer is slow. But I know for a fact that this computer is definitely slow. It's kinda frustrating but oh well, will try again later tonight.

Check list

Last night I made a check list on the things to buy, bring and what to do on Saturday. I cannot afford to forget anything. Since I'm a certified forgetful person. *read full story here* I always call my mom or my sister on how to go about the plan or the trip so I will not forget anything. Hopefully I'll have everything ready before Saturday. Oh I'm excited! To meet again old friends and hopefully make new friends. I'll just pray that I wont forget to bring that check list hahaha!

Rocker girl

Yeah, I was a rocker girl before. But now, I'm a proud mommy! I can't help but reminisce those days especially with my beloved +Fender.

~ L2S battle of the bands finals ~

Double excited

The winner of my little contest for the domain name sent me a message yesterday, saying that she wants to give the prize to the little angel. That was so sweet of her really. I plan to get her swimming gear for our family outing this coming May. It's the little angel's first time to go to the beach! And I'm really excited to see her reaction on the sand and the salt water. I was also thinking to get a beach umbrella. The kids might play on the sands for hours and they needs some kind of protection from the sun. Oh I'm so excited!

Another reason to be excited is that my birthday's coming up. Swimming party! I'm already inviting some friends over at my BIL's resort house in Bacoor Cavite this Saturday and I can't wait to meet them. I've prepared mieryenda and some cool drinks on the side. I'm really hoping they could make it.

Tired me

We had a great time earlier with the rest of the zitros. And I'm so tired today because of the little angel keeps on running and running and it's very hard to keep up. I think I need to double my exercise tomorrow because of all those yummy meal we had for lunch. Not to mention, we ate ice cream twice. Wahh! I need to stay focus and keep up with my diet. I really need to loose weight before summer. Stay focus lizzie! Oh btw, I'll be a year older next week and I'm excited! Sleep well.

Excited this summer!

I can't help but get excited this summer 2008 because I recently bought a digicam that can go with us even under water! I'm dying to have that gadget since last year but I waited until I could buy one for myself. I think the wait was all worth it because they released a newer of the said cam with added features. I'm sure we're gonna have a blast this summer and I have my digicamie-tot to document everything.

~ Olympus SW 795 ~

So for anyone who plans to buy a cam? I suggest you check this baby out! I think the SW795 is released only in Asia. It's the newer version of SW770 and SW790. I know this is still pricey in the market but I bump a local website where they offer brand new items at a very reasonable price. Believe me, mura talaga. Check it out *here* I was not paid to advertise the site, I'm just a happy buyer trying to help a good seller. They have ipods, dvd players and even cell phones. I can't wait for summer!

BIL's birthday jam

Last Saturday, it was our BIL's birthday and we invited my friends for a jam session. It was held at their subdivision's swimming pool area. We arrived at the place around later afternoon so we could set-up the instruments. It's so nice to meet with my old friends again. I miss these jam sessions, late night talks and lots-a-booze! Too bad my bass guitar was not able to join us anymore. But of course, I have to move on. Anyway, we enjoyed the jam and booze and I might do this again on my birthday. Tragedy struck

It was a pleasant day last Thursday. My dad asked me to setup the drum set and the amps in preparation for th BIL's birthday celebration (Saturday). So after breakfast, I post a quick update and checked my emails. I plugged the amps and I setup the drums and test drive the drums with an ipod to accompany me. Just to make sure nothing would fall off during the party. After that I washed my hands so I could re-unite with my bass guitar again. When I touched the hard case, I sense that something was wrong. Then I panicked when I saw termites falling off the side of the coffin-like case. I quickly called the house helper to help me with it, because the lock was jammed. I started to loose hope because the hard case which was suppose to be hard was now slightly softer than before. I asked the helper to open it so I could take a peek. I saw that the color was now faded. I told myself that the color does not matter. So I asked again asked to just pulled the guitar so I could see everything. And also I was trying to save the lock on the case. But I jumped, panicked, cursed and cried when I saw the whole the guitar. It was totally eaten by termites! Yes, my favorite Fender Precision Bass Guitar was gone! I could not do anything. It was too late. Way too late! Everything was gone! I felt that I lost someone so very dear to me. See full story *here*

I lost my friend

Have you ever lost a most valuable thing in the whole world? What did you feel about it? Yesterday, I did and it was the worst day of my life. I never felt so sad in my whole life. I cant eat, I cant sleep and I cant think straight. If only I could turn back time, I would. I felt irresponsible and stupid. All I can do now is imagine and savor that special moments I had with it. You can say that I'm emotional--yes I am. You can say that I'm a cry baby--yes I am. Because I consider that *thing* that I lost yesterday, a very special friend. *Very valuable to me*. My papa said, to let it go. It has a purpose why it's gone. But I still cant help but cry. I'm really really lost for words whenever I think about it. Do you what it is? I'll post it soon when I have the courage to look at it again. But now, I'm still grieving. I lost my very special friend.

Remembering our Papang

Today, we salute a great man that passed away a year ago. He was role model to all of us. He came from a poor family and earned his way until he finished his school with flying colors. He was able to provide shelter, food and education to his family up until to his grand children. His passing was painful but yet it's nature's calling that he needs to rest. As we remember his achievements, lessons, precious moments and reputable image--we are all happy that he is now at peace. His ways will always be alive in our hearts.

As I browse my multiply account, I noticed that my sister S wrote an entry too. You see, she was the one who left for Dubai the same day our grand father passed away a year old. Here's her side of the story... *Remembering Papang...*

He was the salutatorian in his class when he gradruated Accounting in Jose Rizal and ranked 3rd placer in the over all CPA (Certified Public Accountant) board examination. He was friends with the late +Go Kim Pah and was one of the co-founder of Equitable Bank. He served the Go family for 56 long years.

~ First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant.
~ They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes. ~ Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints.
~ We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.
~ As infants &children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats, seat belts or air bags.
~ Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.
~ We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.
~ We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.
~ We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank Kool-aid made with sugar, but we weren't overweight because... WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!
~ We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.
~ No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K.
~ We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.
~ We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet or chat rooms.......
~ WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!
~ We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents.
~ We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.
~ We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not poke out very many eyes.
~ We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them!
~ Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!
~ The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!
~ These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!
~ The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
~ We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!
If YOU are one of them CONGRATULATIONS!
You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good .
While you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave (and lucky) their parents were.

Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?!

The quote of the month is by Jay Leno:
'With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?'

Life

I'm here at my parents house for the night. Long story. Nothing bad. I just spend the night because I was so tired and sleepy from that shopping trip yesterday at 168 mall. I'm waiting for my parents to arrive because they are going to drive me to Bulacan. Unfortunately, I have tons of things with me for my daughter's birthday on Saturday and I don't have a car to bring them home. But they have the big heart. So might as well use my time wisely and wait for them instead. Oh how I miss my daughter. I haven't seen her in a day and I'm already missing her too much. That explains why I'm still here in the country and working my ass off with this 9 hour shift in the office. If it weren't for my daughter, I could be in Dubai or Singapore by now. But I'm not blaming anyone nor my daughter. I'm simple happy that I'm able to provide for her. We Filipinos has the mid set of having a baby after getting married. Yeah, I'm married and happily living with my hubby and daughter. But there are couples I know who still doesn't have any babies after years of married life. Maybe God might think it's not yet time for them to have one, I dunno. It's mystery but I know there's always a reason for everything. Blessings comes in to us but yet, you cant have it all. Some are rich but suffers from depression. Some are rich with friends but not rich in money. Life simply teaches us to many things. We just have to live with it.

The banner

I was tweaking again some settings on this blog, when I thought what to have for the banner. I tried to look for any picture that I have on the hard drive. I uploaded the watermark my sister gave me last for my pictures. Unfortunately, I am not using it anymore because since we moved back in Bulacan, I don't have photoshop anymore. Oh yeah, the computer here is kinda primitive so I can't actually install photoshop. So I use paint. Pathetic huh? So anyway, I tried to upload it and walla! It looked nice. So I thought of changing the Lizzzdls to Lizzie's pod instead. I'm still waiting for sister M to send me the finish product. That's why I'm still not publishing this new link on my other site.

Next project: Buy a domain name.

Tweaking...

I've been doing a lot of surveys these past few days while I tweak some settings and figure out what would be the theme for this blog. I really wanted to put up another blog since I'm already stable with my first home blog. I also did changed the home link from lizzzieworld.blogspot.com to lizziepod.blogspot.com. Unfortunately, somebody else owned the link lizzieworld and friends always get to her site rather than here. Because she has 2 letter z while I had 3 letter z on the link. When I saw my ipod, I thought "pad" would be a nice word to go with my name. Which also had different meaning to me... pod = home. So then came Lizziepad. I hope my friends would not get lost anymore.

What Should Your Superpower Be?

Your Superpower Should Be Invisibility

You are stealth, complex, and creative.
You never face problems head on. Instead, you rely on your craftiness to get your way.
A mystery to others, you thrive on being a little misunderstood.
You happily work behind the scenes... because there's nothing better than a sneak attack!

Why you would be a good superhero: You're so sly, no one would notice... not even your best friends

Your biggest problem as a superhero: Missing out on all of the glory that visible superheroes get

This so called Life

I attended a wake last night after work. I was teary-eyed upon looking at the mother of the child. Yes, our 4-year-old neighbor died yesterday morning. I was feeling very sad and sorry for the mother. Her eyes were already red from crying. I can't imagine how she's feeling at that very moment. As we talked on what had happened, I sense that they accepted the fact that her son was already gone and they did everything they could do to save him.

This reminds me that life is one of the precious things we have. We should live our lives to the fullest because we can never take back this life once it's gone. But what does life really means? Where does it come from? It is the soul that brings this earthly body to life? It's really a mystery to me and I think it will take me life time to understand it.

As I pray for the boy's soul to go to heaven, I realized something very important. I realized how important this so called life to me. That I should cherish every moment in my life and never let any chance and opportunity pass me by.

It's time to be happy. Let's celebrate life to the fullest.

New start

Okay okay! I'm gonna really start this blog as my personal journal. I haven't got any official theme yet but I have a domain name in mine. I already asked for the free web hosting and hopefully nobody will get the domain name I want. This will be a new start for me and I'll try to update this journal everyday.

Live Simply

I recieved an email from my aunt last night. And it made me think twice. Everybody wants to be rich and successful but some families miss what's really important--being there for your kids. Read on:

Inspire Your Kids to Live Simply
by Bo Sanchez

Parents complain to me, "My kids are so materialistic!".

This is my answer. If you see your kids splurge on designer clothes, you can't complain if your closet is filled with these too. You've got to show the way.

Second, not only should you live simply, you should ENJOY living simply. And when kids ask for expensive toys, expensive clothes, don't answer,

"We can't afford it". That's a clear message that says, "We live a deprived life...boo-hoo-hoo."

You have to clearly explain to them that living simply is a deliberate choice. Set them before you and say, "Daddy and Mommy can buy that toy for you, but if we do, we'll have to work harder to earn money. Perhaps we won't come home for dinner and have to be away for the weekends. Do you want Daddy and Mommy to be away from you - or do you want them to always be here beside you?"

Don't expect it to sink in right away. Let them see you enjoy the simple things of life - not just those with a high price tag. In the end, a simple lifestyle is caught more than taught. .....a group of little boys has this conversation in a park....

Child A: "My daddy/mommy is a doctor and he/she makes a lot of money and we have swimming pool"
Child B: "My daddy/mommy is a lawyer and he/she flies to Washington and talks to the president"
Child C: "My daddy/mommy owns a company and we have our own airplane"
Child D: "My daddy/mommy is HERE WITH ME!"

When God brings you to a financial desert, He's teaching you the most important lessons in life. Because the desert is God's university.

I know some parents who as kids were raised in poverty, but through struggle and faith, they've now left the financial desert.

But here's the tragedy: Because they now have the ability to give a comfortable life to their children, they give too much of it.

If you're one of these parents, let me speak frankly to you. By giving everything that your children ask - you rob them of the very thing that

made you strong: the desert, the place where you struggled and built your character and made you who you are. Don't give them everything they ask for.

Let them have the desert experience.
